In his comprehensive analyis of the significance of the Timber Barracks buildings on Middle Head an eminent heritage consultant Graham Brooks states that:

“The three large Barracks Buildings at Middle Head were and remain an important and integral part of the operational history of the so-called 10 Terminal brick buildings complex, for the whole of the second half of the 20th century and of the entire evolution of military accommodation at Middle Head.”

And that “The equal importance of the three Barracks Buildings as part of the 10 Terminal complex must be recognised as equal to the more numerous single-storey huts associated with ASOPA during the second half of the 20th century.”

"the proposed demolition of the Barracks building will have a major 'Significant Impact' on the statutory Commonwealth Heritage Values of Middle Head…." Graham Brooks
