Dear Members and Supporters,

I would like to update you on matters of concern and recent events – and in

particular reflect on the outstanding Anzac Day Dawn Service held at Georges Heights on 25 April 2024.

Anzac Day 25 April 2024

An estimated 2,500 people attended the ANZAC Day Commemorative Service held at Georges Heights to pay their respects to those who served to protect our nation. 

Commander Kent Browning from HMAS Penguin gave an inspiring address relating to Australia’s involvement in the many overseas theatres of war and the sacrifices of our servicemen and women at home and abroad. He particularly referenced those from the local community who served and sacrificed their lives and the social impact this loss had ( particularly WWI and WWII) on the community of Mosman.

Proposed Environment Education Centre (EEC) Development at Middle Head Fort

HPG wishes to thank all who took the time to make their views regarding the EEC proposal known to the Department of Education The Department has received over 200 submissions as a result of your efforts. This number is significant and indicates the extent of community concern regarding the proposal.  The Department has advised us that it is reviewing the submissions and preparing an outcomes report to be shared with HPG and the community soon.

We shall continue to keep you informed of developments in this matter.

Taronga Zoo – Sky Safari Proposal Update

HPG has recently participated in a consultation with Taronga Zoo on the proposed Taronga Zoo Sky Safari upgrade, during which details on the proposal's progress were provided. Read our meeting notes here >

Harbour Trust Board meeting in Public –
Thursday 13 June 2024

All are invited to attend the Harbour Trust Public Board Meeting on Thursday 13 June 2024, from 5.30 pm to 7.00pm, to hear an update on future Harbour Trust plans for its sites.

It is essential to register to attend the meeting either in person at the Harbour Trust office at Building 28 Best Ave Mosman or online via Zoom.

The Harbour Trust requests that all Board questions be submitted before the meeting. The Harbour Trust will allocate time for discussion at the end of the meeting.
