Dear Members and Supporters, The year has flown. It is now May, and time for an update on HPG activities. ANZAC DAYHPG attended the recent Anzac Day ceremonies held on 10 March at the Mosman War Memorial and on 25 April at Georges Heights, Middle Head. Both ceremonies reflected upon the enormous sacrifices by members of the Mosman community in the theatres of war from WW1, WW11, Korean, Malaysian and Vietnam Wars. For example, Mosman contributed over 1500 volunteers who served in WW1 ( 44% of Mosman men between 18 and 42yrs). Sadly, I heard that across 43 streets in Mosman, the community lost at least one soldier during this war. During WW11, from a Mosman population of 25,000, Mosman contributed 3,449 enlistees (13.8%), and 68 were killed in action. We are humbled by the sacrifices of the men and women who fought for our freedoms.
