Dear Friends and Supporters, Thank you to those of you who were able to join us at our Fundraiser last Thursday evening to launch our campaign to Save HMAS Penguin and the Angophora Forest and to raise funds for the campaign. We are grateful for your generosity on the night enabling us to raise important funds for our campaign. It was also a wonderful boost to receive donations from several who were unable to be there on the night. We also thank Lisa and Egil Paulsen for opening their magnificent home and art collection for all to enjoy. We were delighted that the event sold out. We were also fortunate to hear from two exceptional speakers: Mr Nick Hollo, former Head of Design and Planning and later Deputy Executive Director of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, and Mr Graham Brooks, Heritage Architect and Managing Director of GBA Heritage,
regarding the importance of keeping the site in Commonwealth ownership to secure its environmental and heritage protections. We thank Nick and Graham for their expertise, support and encouragement. A fundraiser is only successful with the support of those who donated items for auction or raffle.
