Dear Members and Supporters,

HOW DETERMINED RESIDENTS SAVED MIDDLE HEAD

Twenty-five years ago, it was proposed that the large tracts of ex-defence lands of Middle Head would be sold off for housing.

In response, HPG galvanised concerned residents and, with the help of many eminent Australians, including Bob Carr, Tom Uren, Jack Mundey, and Tim Flannery, to name a few, persuaded the Commonwealth Government under the leadership of John Howard to preserve the land as open space for the enjoyment of all Australians.

HPG is proud of this legacy and wishes to thank all its members and supporters for their past and ongoing support to ensure the protection and conservation of this nationally significant site.

10 TERMINAL AND PARKLANDS RENEWAL PROJECT

The Harbour Trust has advised that it is undertaking conservation work on the 10 Terminal building at Middle Head.


The work predominantly involves roof replacement, façade repairs, window replacement and general repairs to conserve the heritage of the building.
